To gain admission to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) program in India, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Educational Qualification:
- Completion of 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects.
- A minimum aggregate score of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the qualifying examination (Intermediate) for UR/EWS Candidate. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50%. Further, for persons with disability the minimum of 45% marks for UR/EWS-PwD and 40% OBC-PwD, SC-PwD, & ST-PwD
2. Entrance Exam:
- Admission is primarily based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Candidates must qualify for this exam to be eligible for BAMS programs.
3. Age Limit:
- Candidates should be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.
4. Counseling and Seat Allotment:
- After qualifying NEET-UG, candidates must participate in the AYUSH Admission Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) or state-level counseling for seat allocation.
