About the Department:
The Department of Samhita, Siddhanta, and Sanskrit is the first and foremost department in Ayurvedic education. This department imparts knowledge related to the fundamental principles of Ayurveda. A thorough understanding of Samhitas (classical texts), Siddhantas (basic principles), and the Sanskrit language is essential for comprehending and mastering the science of Ayurveda. The department covers six subjects: Ashtanga Hridaya, Sanskrit, Padartha Vidnyana, Moulika Siddhanta, Charaka Purvardha, and Charaka Uttarardha. These subjects are significant and intriguing, as they unravel the secrets of the human spirit and the material world.

Practical Exposure:
As a pre-clinical department, Samhita, Siddhanta & Sanskrit does not directly run OPD/IPD services. However, it plays a critical supportive role in clinical education by providing the theoretical foundation upon which all Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment are built. By training students in textual interpretation, conceptual clarity, and philosophical grounding, the department ensures that future physicians can apply Ayurvedic principles effectively in clinical practice.
