The Teaching Pharmacy at the Faculty of Ayurved serves as a cornerstone for practical education and skill development in Ayurvedic pharmaceutics. It provides students with hands-on experience in the preparation and understanding of classical Ayurvedic medicines and formulations, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

Objectives

  • To provide students with practical insights into Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing processes.
  • To preserve and promote classical Ayurvedic practices through skill-based training.
  • To empower students with the knowledge required for professional roles in Ayurvedic pharmaceutics and healthcare.

Key Features

1. Production of Ayurvedic Formulations:

  • Preparation of classical formulations such as Churna (powders), Vati (tablets), Asava-Arishta (fermented liquids), Ghrita (medicated ghee), and Taila (medicated oils).
  • Training on standardized methods of medicine preparation as per Ayurvedic texts and good manufacturing practices (GMP).

2. Raw Material Identification and Processing:

  • Practical training in identifying medicinal herbs and raw materials used in Ayurvedic formulations.
  • Exposure to techniques for cleaning, drying, and pulverizing herbs, ensuring quality and efficacy.

3. Practical Training Sessions:

  • Hands-on workshops for students to learn various pharmaceutic techniques, including formulation, preservation, and packaging of medicines.
  • Understanding the importance of dosage and combinations in therapeutic practices.

4. Quality Control and Standardization:

  • Introduction to methods for ensuring the safety, quality, and authenticity of Ayurvedic medicines.
  • Training in basic laboratory techniques for testing the purity and potency of ingredients.

5. Learning Environment:

  • Fully equipped pharmacy with essential tools and machinery for medicine preparation.
  • Supportive faculty providing guidance and supervision during practical sessions.

6. Research and Development:
